Commissions

I wish I had time to create every interesting piece the Internet can envision, but I have bills to pay, and so I have to charge people money to create to their specifications. The good news, is this means that you can have me make a picture that is EXACTLY what you’re looking for.

I consider all commissioner ideas and communications to be private, and I do not disclose details of other people’s ideas, ever.

Commission Types

Standard Packages

Icon (Head/Shoulder)

Cost: $45

Figure is viewed from chest up, I recommend a VERY simple background for these.

Full Body

Cost: $90

Easily the most popular option. Full Body commissions can depict the entire figure, though they are often cropped

Head to Waist

Cost: $75

What is says on the can. The figure is seen from the waist upwards. This is often a better way to focus on their face than even the Icon option.

  • Additional Figures + 50% to base.
  • All packages come with standard shading (one pass of shadows, highlights as logical)
  • More complex shading (multiple shadow passes multiple highlight passes) +25% on top of base.
  • FLat color (No shading) -REMOVES- 25% from base cost. This is the look often seen in North American cartoon animation.

Special Packages

Color Lineart

Cost: $45 per figure

You supply the lineart, which you must either own, or have permission of the original artist to modify, I provide the color and shading.

Character Design
(Bundle)

Cost: $150

I will work from your descriptions to create original artwork of your characters.

The bundle includes a forward facing full body, a backward facing full body, a forward and a backward facing head close-up, and both right and left profile images.

All character design artwork is flat color, no shading.

Custom Job

Cost: Inquire

Got an idea that just doesn’t fit any of the other options? Then this

How It Works:

Send me an email detailing what you’d like. It never hurts to ask, and I love talking to people about ideas. For fanart, I recommend you send links to images of all characters involved. And yes, I mean links, not pictures. Do not send media without my direct request.

– Don’t assume I know who you’re talking about, I live under a rock. –

Describe the image you’d like me to create. More detail is always better. It will save time and work later. BE SPECIFIC as to what you want. I’ll quote a price for your work based on the rate information above and begin work on your say-so.

All payments will be over PayPal. Payments must be in U.S. Dollars (PayPal will convert your local currency for you). Platform fees and local taxes (totaling about 11% of the base cost) will be added to the quote. PAYMENTS IN -ANY- FORM OF CRYPTOCURRENCY WILL BE REJECTED AND RETURNED WITH ANY AND ALL PAYPAL FEES ADDED TO THE BALANCE.

The Process

I do commissions in up to four stages. At each stage, I will send you a proof:

First, I create a Pose proposal…

I use a 3D program to help envision poses. I can’t control body type (aside from gender), hair style, expressions or outfits – but it conveys the general idea of how I’ve interpreted your request. Changes at this stage are the easiest to make, so please make sure the proposal matches what you want before giving your approval to move on to…

Then I draw the Line Art.

Some elements may be in color (like eyes and such), but generally this is just black lines on a white field. Here is where almost all details of the image are first created. Creating a pose image takes a few minutes, line art can take most of a day so don’t expect an immediate turn around here. Also, again, be VERY SURE you love it before giving me your okay to move onto…

Adding Color.

At this point, ALL the details should be present. Depending on complexity, coloring is a piece can take an hour to a day.

And Finally… Shading.

Shading is what makes the artwork pop, the more there is, the better it looks (there are of course exceptions). This is the final stage, and when you are satisfied with it, payment is due and the job is done.

At your direction, I will make any changes you specify to the image at each stage. But once you’ve signed off on that stage, further alteration will incur an additional charge. (If we’re to the shading phase and you want to change the pose you agreed to back at the first stage for instance).

Each proof stage includes up to THREE rounds of changes. Additional rounds can incur additional charges, but I’ve never gone more than three rounds on any job in my life.

You do not have to pay until the final stage is approved. But until you pay, all proofs will include large “SAMPLE” watermarks.

Once you’ve signed off on the final proof and have paid the bill, I’ll send or upload  a watermark-free version of the image.
